mA/cma - Full Time (36/hrs week)

Under the direct supervision of a physician, physician’s assistant, or nurse midwife, provides direct patient care within the policies and procedures of Prairie Clinic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Promptly provides patient care to assigned patients based on direction of the physician, physician’s assistant, nurse midwife.
  2. Prepares patients for physician consult or exam.
  3. Takes medical histories.
  4. Records vital signs.
  5. Explains treatment procedures to patients.
  6. Assists or performs treatments/procedures as directed.
  7. Collects and prepare laboratory specimens.
  8. Prepares, administers and records medications skillfully and correctly.
  9. Maintains accurate and complete documentation and reporting of all patient information in a timely manner.
  10. Makes referral calls and appointments. Notifies patients.
  11. Maintains up to date professional and technical knowledge and nursing skills.
  12. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams.
  13. Must be willing to work evenings, and weekends as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Medical Assistant (MA) or
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles of general nursing care.
  • Must be able to Multi-task.
  • Must be able to communicate Health Promotion/Maintenance as described by the Board of Directors.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT/NURSE PRACTITIONER

DESCRIPTION:


We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant and or Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. As a Physician Assistant and or Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care, collaborating with physicians, and ensuring the wellbeing of our patients.

 

As a Physician Assistant and or Nurse Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of patients, utilizing your advanced clinical expertise and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, prescribing medications, and educating patients about their healthcare needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Make accurate diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
  • Educate and counsel patients on preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle modifications.
  • Participate in Quality Care initiatives.


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Valid Wisconsin Physician Assistant license and or Valid Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant and or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical conditions and treatments.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.


PHYSICIAN DEMANDS:


  • Work is performed in a clinic setting.
  • This position requires standing, sitting, kneeling, stopping, lifting, bending, walking, carrying, listening, talking, use of a telephone, computer, and other basic office equipment.
  • Lifting and moving of equipment and patients requires appropriate use of body mechanics.
  • Potential for exposure to blood, body fluids require appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Switchboard Operator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  1. Answers incoming calls promptly, professionally and politely.
  2. Identification of caller needs, answering questions, documenting the discussion, routing calls and/or sending electronic messages, according to clinic policy.
  3. Verifies the identity of the caller, authority to access information, and maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policy.
  4. Clearly and professionally documents electronic messages, including name, date of birth, phone number purpose of call, medication, and any other pertinent information.
  5. Must be willing to work hours as assigned including rotating Saturday mornings.
  6. Attends training sessions as requested and / or desired for knowledge and expertise.
  7. Participates in Prairie Clinic safety education, procedures, and drills.
  8. Understands and follows all Prairie Clinic employee policies. 
  9. Participates in other assigned duties as designated by the Health Information Manager or Clinic Administrator. 



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines, take accurate messages, and properly handle calls according to clinic policy.
  • Accurate & efficient keyboarding and computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
